The Group

Who we are:

The Armando Álvarez Group of companies is presently Spain's largest polyethylene plastic converter.

An annual production capacity of more than 200,000 tons has led us to rank among the leading European processors.

The origin of the corporate Group

To discover the origins of the Group, we must go back to the beginning of the sixties when, working at small Carpentry facilities, manufacturing commenced of different types of wooden packings. Subsequently, a company was created for the manufacture of metal drums for chemical products, but it was not until 1964 that Plásticos Españoles, S.A., better known as Aspla, was incorporated as the first firm to engage in the of plastic processing within the Group.

In 1977, the Group looked beyond Cantabria and purchased two companies: Reyde, S.A. and Reyenvas, S.A.

Our present position as sector leader has been achieved step by step, following a strategy of purchasing companies to supplement the Group's product lines.

The acquisition process was boosted over the past two decades with the addition of Silvalac,S.A., Industrias Gráficas Castells, S.A., Plásticos Vanguardia, S.A., Rafia Industrial, S.A., Solplast, S.A., Sotrafa, S.A., Macresac, S.A. and Poliplastic, S.A.
